自宅建設に向けて、打ち合わせを続けています。
5月以降には着工できるように進めたいので、この2ヶ月くらいでさらに打ち合わせを重ねて、予算を含めた最終図面を完成させて正式なゴーサインとなる予定です。
完全注文住宅となるので、自分たちの希望に合わせて図面を作ってもらえるのは嬉しいのですが、あれも、これもと注文するうちにどんどん見積もりの金額も増えてしまうので頭を悩ませています。
ということで、次回の打ち合わせでは、車3台分＋収納の屋根付きガレージのプランから、車1台＋収納の屋根付きガレージに、残りの2台は屋根のみのカーポートを設置するプランに変更することで家本体の減額案を提示いただくことになりました。
ただ、代わりにリビングルームをダウンフロアに変更したり、中庭に面した廊下側の壁にも広く窓をとってもらうようにお願いしたり、エアコンの代わりに全館空調の設備を入れた場合の見積もりも取ってもらうのであまり減額は期待できそうにありません。
着工が始まってから家や外構が完成して実際に新しい家に住み始めるのは年明けになるのでまだまだ遠い道のりではありますが、今回お願いすることになったハウスメーカーの担当者の方は本当にこちらのことを考えて提案してくれるので大変助かっています。
というか、今回ハウスメーカーを決めるまでに多くのハウスメーカーの担当者の方と打ち合わせをしましたが、提案力や、融通性、はたまたプロとして専門性などを総合して期待値を満たしてくれる担当者の方があまりにも少なくてびっくりしました。
こんなことを言うと上から目線で偉そうに聞こえるかもしれませんが、一生で最も高い買い物となるマイホーム購入なので、ハウスメーカーとしての評判や商品力だけでなく、この人だからお願いしたいという担当の方についてほしいですよね。
その点今回お願いすることになったハウスメーカーの担当者の方は、こちらの要望に対する提案力や専門性だけでなく、こちらのワクワクとした気持ちを一緒になって盛り上げてくれて、なんとかこちらの要望を予算内の中で叶えようと努力してくれれるところにこの人になら任したいと思うきっかけになりました。
といってもまだ最終的な図面も決まっていませんし、何よりも予算との折り合いもつけくてはならないので、なんとかこちらのわがままも聞いていただきながら決めていきたいと思います。

We are continuing meetings to discuss the construction of our home.
We would like to move forward so that we can start construction in May or later, so we plan to have more meetings in the next two months or so and complete the final drawings, including the budget, before officially giving the go-ahead.
Since this will be a completely custom-built house, we are happy to have the drawings made according to our wishes, but the more we order, the more we are worried about the cost estimate.
So, at our next meeting, we will be presented with a proposal to reduce the price of the house itself by changing the plan from a covered garage for three cars plus storage to a covered garage for one car plus storage and a roof-only carport for the other two cars.
However, we are not expecting much of a reduction since we will instead be asked to change the living room to downstairs, ask for wider windows on the hallway side wall facing the courtyard, and get an estimate for a whole house air conditioning system instead of an air conditioner.
We still have a long way to go from the start of construction until the house and outbuildings are completed and we can actually start living in our new home at the beginning of the new year, but the person in charge of the house builder we have asked this time is very helpful because he really thinks about us and makes proposals.
I had meetings with many house builders before deciding on a house builder, but I was surprised at how few of them met my expectations in terms of proposal ability, flexibility, and professionalism.
It may sound arrogant to say this, but since purchasing a home is the most expensive purchase you will make in your lifetime, you want a person in charge who you want to work with not only because of the reputation of the house builder or the quality of the products, but also because he or she is the person you want to work with.
In this respect, the person in charge at the house builder we chose this time not only had the ability and expertise to make proposals in response to our requests, but also worked with us to build our excitement, and made efforts to fulfill our requests within our budget. I was very happy with the way he worked with us to make our requests come true within our budget.
However, the final drawings have not been finalized yet, and we still have to come to terms with the budget above all else, so we would like to make a decision while listening to our wishes.
