我が家には、2台のiPadがあったのですが、過去形で書いているのは、1台(iPad Air 初代モデル）はずいぶん前に電源が入らなくなってしまい、2台目のiPad Pro 2017モデルもつい最近電源が入らなくなってしまい使い物にならなくなってしまったからです。
カメラのキタムラに持っていったものの、マザーボードが壊れているとの診断で修理はできず全ユニット交換になるので7万円以上の費用がかかると言われてしまいました。
と言うことで、新たにiPadを購入することを考えているのですが、円安などの影響でここ数年でずいぶんと高くなってしまい手軽においそれと購入できる金額でなくなってしまいましたね。
予算を抑えたければ、iPad無印モデルの一つ前の第9世代を選びますが、どうせなら自分への未来への投資として、iPad Air 第4世代（それでも一つ前のモデル）を購入しようかなと考えています。
こちらの、Wi-Fi + Cellular 256GBのモデルが87,300円、それにApple Pencil (第二世代）を加えて、合計で10万円を超える出費。
iPadで動画を見る、電子書籍を読むだけなら完全にオーバスペックになりますが、どうせなら、これをきっかけに動画編集を学んだり、Apple Pencilを使い倒すくらいの気持ちで新しいスキルを身につければ元は取れると考えました。
よく言われることでありますが、自分自身を成長させたり、新しい自分を見つける機会にお金を使う場合は投資、ただの時間つぶしで、リラックスするためだけにお金をを使うのは浪費。
そう線引きして、今回の買い物が浪費ではなくて、自分への投資になるようにiPadを使っていければいいなと思いました。
なんか、無理やり後付けで理由を作ってないと言われてしまいそうですが、購入した際には、iPadを使って新しいことを学んでいる姿をこのブログで報告したいと思います。
因みに、iPadのような精密電子機器は、使用寿命を5年くらいで考えていた方がいいので、この5年で10万円の費用を回収できるように頑張ります。

If you just want to watch videos or read e-books on the iPad, it will be completely over-specified, but we thought we could get our money back if we use this as an opportunity to learn video editing and acquire new skills, like using the Apple Pencil to the fullest.
As is often said, spending money for the opportunity to grow and discover a new you is an investment, while spending money just to kill time and relax is a waste. Drawing that line, I hope I can use the iPad in such a way that this purchase is not a waste of money, but an investment in myself.
