It is often said that a person’s productivity is determined by whether he or she focuses on what is or is not there.

We know that, but when we don’t have the luxury of time, or when our minds are unstable, we inevitably think pessimistically. Or perhaps our minds naturally gravitate toward pessimistic thoughts if we let them.

No matter how positive a person may seem to be, I suspect that deep down inside there are negative thoughts living with him or her.

At what point do we start to have negative feelings after we are born into this world?

First of all, I believe that our DNA is equipped with a self-preservation instinct for survival, the most important of which is fear of the unknown and hostility.

This fear and hostility give rise to the emotion of anger, which is distorted into resentment, envy, jealousy, and so on.

Another factor may be the family environment in which they were raised.

Even a casual comment by a parent can have a big impact on a small child. Negative thought patterns are naturally formed in children as they are exposed to the negative words and actions of their parents.

I have publicly stated that I want to become a happiness guru, and I also communicate positive things on my blog, but in reality I am uncontrollably negative in some ways, and that is why I am consciously trying to be positive.

In the midst of this daily struggle, there is one thing that I am realizing.

That is, if I can focus on what I want to do and what I like to do, without pretending my feelings as much as possible and without pushing myself too hard, I will not continue to feel so negative.

You might say that this one is not so easy either, but I am learning that it is surprisingly easy to change your life if you are prepared to put yourself first and take care of yourself.

I would like to spend more time immersing myself in the things I love and want to do so that I don’t get pulled down by negative feelings when they arise.
