Words such as “walking on the phone” and “multitasking” are sometimes used to symbolize the lifestyle of modern people living in a busy society.

However, it has been reported that our brains are not very good at multitasking, and if we continue to do so, it can have a negative impact on the anterior cingulate cortex, which controls cognitive functions in the brain, resulting in poor concentration, depression, anxiety, and other mental problems.

As I myself have written in this blog, I believe that the most important way to increase our daily productivity is to improve our ability to concentrate on our work, and I have felt that multitasking is one of the major factors that hinder our ability to concentrate.

When I thought about the root cause of multitasking in the first place, it occurred to me that in my case, it was the Things to Do task list.

Originally, I was using the task list to increase my productivity, but it has become an objective to complete tasks, and while I’m working on one task, I sometimes find myself worrying about the next task and start working on that one.

So, I’d like to stop updating my task list for a while.
