(English)

We are all individuals from the time we are born into this world, and the genes we inherit from our parents, such as IQ and physical ability, play a major role.

So, is talent still largely a factor that we are born with?

Or is it something that can be developed through acquired efforts?

When we talk about talent that is superior to others, the first thing that comes to mind is Shohei Ohtani, who is very active in the major leagues as a two-sport athlete. He is also well known for his love of baseball more than anyone else, and for being a practicing worm.

What is talent, anyway?

The dictionary defines it as

The dictionary defines talent as “the innate ability to do things skillfully.

The dictionary defines talent as “the innate ability to do things skillfully.

However, most people may think that they do not have such a talent when they are told that they are born with it.

In other words, it is rare for someone like Otani to realize his talent from childhood, hone it, and make baseball his vocation.

In my own case, when I was in my 20s and 30s, I sometimes wondered if the path I was on now was the best path for me to make the most of myself, or if there were other ways to find my talent.

And after 53 years of living, I have come to the conclusion that what I need now is not the ability of talent, but the ability to believe in my potential and hold on to my dreams.

If talent were an innate ability, I would have realized it early in life. What is more important is the long life that follows. If you have an object that you are passionate about and continue to pursue it, that would be the best life.
