今日は早朝から30キロのロングランの後、Zoomでハウスメーカーの担当者の方から提案をいただきました。
今回、自宅建設のプロジェクトを進めにあたり、ハウスメーカーさんや工務店の方とメールや、電話、Zoomでやりとりをさせていただいています。
その中で、ヒアリング能力から、提案力、柔軟性など担当者の方によって本当に違いがあるなと実感しています。
家を建てるのって人生で一番高い買い物になるので、買う側もかなり真剣にハウスメーカー選びをしますが、私の場合どうやら” このハウスメーカーだから決める” ではなくて、”この担当者の人に頼みたいから決める” という判断基準になりそうです。
私が今回家を建てようと思った時に決めたのは、自分や家族がワクワクできる家を建てること。こちらのワクワクをできる限り叶えられるように誠心誠意努力してくれる担当者の方にお願いしたいのは当たり前なのかもしれません。
ここまで7-8人の担当者の方とお話しをさせてもらったのですが、この条件にあった方がなかなかいないので苦労しています。
家の仕様に関してはどこかで妥協しなくてはいけないことも出てくるとは思いますが、担当者は絶対妥協したくないなという気持ちが強くあります。
ちなみに今日打ち合わせをしたハウスメーカーと担当者の方は、実は前に実家を二世帯にする話が持ち上がった時にお世話になった方なのですが、今回もこちらの要望を細かく形にしてくれて、それでいて費用的にもかなり頑張っていただいているのでかなり気持ちが傾いています。
また、何よりも妻と私からのかなり細かい質問も全て丁寧に答えてくれるので信頼感があります。
まだ数社並行して話を進めていますが、来月あたりにはどこにお願いするかを絞りたいと思っています。

Today, after an early morning 30 km long run, I received a proposal from a representative of a house builder via Zoom.
As we proceed with the project to build our home, we have been communicating with the house builder and the construction company via e-mail, phone, and Zoom. I have realized that there is a real difference in the ability to listen, to make proposals, and to be flexible, depending on the person in charge.
Building a house is the most expensive purchase in one’s life, so the buyer takes the selection of a house builder very seriously, but in my case, the decision is not “I will choose this house builder because they are the best,” but rather, “I will choose this person because I want to work with them. I decided when I wanted to build a house this time.
When I decided to build a house, I wanted to build a house that would excite me and my family. It may be natural that I would like to ask for a person in charge who will make a sincere effort to make my excitement come true as much as possible.
I have spoken with 7-8 people in charge so far, but I am having a hard time finding someone who meets these criteria.
I am sure that we will have to compromise on the specifications of the house at some point, but I have a strong feeling that I don’t want to compromise on the person in charge of the house.
Incidentally, the house builder and the person in charge we met with today were actually the same people who helped us when we discussed making our parents’ house a two-family home.
He also answered all the detailed questions my wife and I had, which gave us a sense of trust in him.
We are still talking to several companies in parallel, but we hope to narrow down our choices in the next month or so.
