アメリカの大統領選挙もここまでの接戦になるとは予想されていなかったと思いますが、そもそも、アメリカの大手メディアは完全に民主党よりの報道に偏っていたので、メディアのいうことをそのまま鵜呑みにすることはやめた方がいいかもしれません。因みに、民主党支持者の8割はメディアの報道を信じていて、逆に共和党支持者の8割はメディアを信じていないという調査結果があるそうですが、納得です。
今回の選挙で、アメリカという国が二つに分断されていることが益々明らかになったと思いますが、民主党支持者と共和党支持者の分断は次のように言い換えることもできるのではないでしょうか。
グローバリズムとナショナリズム
左派と右派
リベラルと保守
都市と農業地帯
それでは、トランプ大統領とバイデン前副大統領の支持者はどのような理由でそれぞれの候補者を支持しているのでしょうか。
トランプ大統領の支持者
ビジネスマンとしての手腕
政治家ではないからこそ、思い切ったことができる
愛国心が強い
経済と株式市場を強くした
アメリカンドリームの体現者
ブルーワーカーや労働者階級を支えてくれるから
バイデン前副大統領の支持者
実績ではなく人格を見て、バイデン氏を支持
トランプ氏の新型コロナウィルスの対策に不満
消去法でバイデン氏
トランプ氏の性や人種に対する差別に辟易しているので
これらを見て思ったのは、トランプ氏支持者の熱量が大きいのに対して、バイデン氏支持者は、彼を熱烈に指示するというよりは反トランプ氏だからという理由が大きいような気がしました。
アメリカは、これからどこに向かっていくのでしょうか。
私個人的には、アメリカの建国精神である、自由、平等、フロンティア精神の原点に戻って、排他や排除ではなくて、多様性や包括性をどんどん推進していく国であって欲しいと思います。

I don’t think the US presidential election was expected to be this close either, but since the major US media was completely biased in favor of the Democrats in the first place, we might as well stop believing what the media says. Because he support the blue workers and the working class.

I endorses Biden based on personality, not performance
Unhappy with Trump’s new coronavirus measures
By process of elimination, I choose Mr. Biden.
I’m fed up with Trump’s discrimination against sex and race.
These made me think that while Trump’s supporters have a lot of heat, Biden’s supporters seem to be largely because they are anti-Trump rather than fervently directing him.
Where does America go from here?
Personally, I would like to see the United States return to its founding principles of freedom, equality, and frontier spirit and be a country that promotes more and more diversity and inclusiveness, rather than exclusion and exclusion.
