以前、会社で受けた研修で、50枚くらいある単語カードの中から、自分が仕事において最も大切にしている単語を選ぶというエクセサイズがありました。
その時に私が選んだ単語がこちらです。

今後の自分の方向性を考えるにあたり参考にしたくて、過去の自分のノートや記録を振り返っていた時に目に入ってきたのですが、まさにこの7つの単語が自分のモチベーションや人生における価値であることを改めて思い出させてくれました。
今の私に取っては、何かに情熱を持ち、その情熱を捧げる対象を極めるために集中して努力を続けること。そしてその挑戦と達成感を通して自分の存在意義や喜びを感じること。それが残された人生で自分がやりたいことです。
そしてこの中でも最も大切なのは情熱を持ち続けることなのではないでしょうか。
その情熱について、アニメ映画の大家である宮崎駿さんと、将士の羽生善治さんが語った言葉が好きなので紹介します。
才能とは情熱を持続させる能力のこと by 宮崎駿以前、
私は才能は一瞬の閃きだと思っていました。しかし今は、十年とか二十年、三十年を同じ姿勢で、同じ情熱を傾けられることが才能だと思っている by 羽生善治
それでは、どうした情熱を持続させることができるのでしょうか。
答えは、その人それぞれにあるのかもしれませんが、いつも高い情熱を持っている人に共通することとして、自分の理想に対して漠然ではなく具体的かつ明確なゴールを持っていて、自分のあるべき未来の姿がはっきりと見えているということがあげられるのではないでしょうか。
私たちは自分の未来像さえ描ければ、そこに向かわずにはいられない、それが、やる気や情熱の源泉になるのだと思います。
もしも自分の情熱が何なのか分からないという人がいたら、自分が何を大切にしているのか、どんな自分になりたいのかをまずは書き出して見ることから始めてみてもいいかもしれませんね。

In a training I once took at a company, there was an exercise where we had to choose from about 50 word cards the word that was most important to us in our work.

I was looking back at my past notes and records for reference as I consider my future direction, and I was reminded that these seven words are exactly what motivate me and what I value in life.
For me now, it is to have a passion for something and to continue to focus and strive to master the subject to which I dedicate my passion. And through that challenge and accomplishment, to feel the meaning of my existence and the joy of my life. That is what I want to do with the rest of my life.
And the most important thing of all is to keep your passion alive.
I like what Hayao Miyazaki, the animation film master, and Yoshiharu Hanyu, the Shogi player, have to say about this passion.

I used to think that talent was a flash of inspiration. But now I think talent is the ability to maintain the same attitude and the same passion for ten, twenty, or thirty years by Yoshiharu Hanyu
So how does one sustain passion?
The answer may be up to the individual, but one thing that people who are always highly passionate have in common is that they have a clear and concrete goal for their ideal, not a vague one, and they have a clear vision of what they want their future to look like.
Once we have a vision of our future, we cannot help but move toward it, and I believe this is the source of our motivation and passion.
If someone is unsure of what their passion is, they might start by writing down what they value and what kind of person they want to be.
