(English)

I just wrote in yesterday’s blog post that if I ever have negative feelings and they drag on, I will share them here on this blog, but the attitude of the person in charge at the brokerage firm I called for the first time today was so arrogant that it dragged on a bit.

I myself have been working in customer service for decades, so perhaps I just can’t shut up when I see responses that treat customers and people who need support in an inconsiderate manner.

In this case, the person who answered the phone seemed to be bothering me from the beginning and asked me why I was calling before I even told him what I wanted to talk about.

After hanging up the phone, I regretted that I should have ended the call quietly without saying anything, but my mood did not improve for a while after that.

So, when I think about what was the hook that made me feel offended, I can only conclude that the person who answered the phone did not have good manners in answering the phone.

It is not that I was dissatisfied with the knowledge or information provided by the person who answered the phone, but rather that he/she did not even try to listen to what I had to say and seemed to be overly bothered by the situation.

I myself have decided to choose to be happy rather than to do the right thing, so the next time the same thing happens to me, I would not just say, “That’s enough,” and leave it at that, but rather, “I don’t think my point will be conveyed well, so I’m going to change to another person. I thought it would have been better if I could have said something like, “I don’t think my point was conveyed well, so would it be possible for another person in charge to take over for me?

Or should I just let myself think that I just happened to run into a strange person today?

I’m not sure about that, so I’m going to make the same inquiry now to another branch of the same brokerage firm.

Postscript.

I just spoke with the person at the other branch, and not only did he answer our questions, but he even offered to call back to find out if there is any other good information.

Lesson learned.

It is not worth shutting down completely from here after one exchange. You can keep trying as many times as you want until you hit on the person or information you are looking for.
