(English)

In today’s blog post, I would like to think about investment.

The dictionary definition of investment is any activity in which you invest your current capital in order to increase it in the future, but what I want to talk about today is self-investment when you think of yourself as an asset.

If you think of investment as an investment for self-improvement, I think it is important to decide what to invest your time and money in in order to increase the value of your asset, but if I were to give you my answer first, I think the right answer is to use your time and money to master what you really like rather than choosing what to invest yourself in.

In my case, I have loved reading books since I was in elementary school, partly because of my father’s influence and partly because I was an only child. This habit of reading books has continued even after I became an adult, and as a result, I have been able to improve my reading comprehension by reading a huge amount of books, and I also like to write something myself, which helps me in my work and in writing this blog.

Another thing that I have accumulated since I was young is learning English. I originally started learning English because I liked it and longed for it, but now that I am a working adult, I need English for my job, and my rivalry with my non-English speaking colleagues who do not want to lose to me is the reason why I have been able to keep on learning English.

In addition, one of the things I have spent a lot of time polishing is my ability to recognize, analyze, and solve problems in business. I think this is a skill that I have acquired in order to survive for 30 years in a foreign company, but I think it is a skill that I have been able to hone because I am originally interested in thinking about problems and coming up with solutions, and I find joy in solving problems.

After that, I guess it’s about being a cool person. You may say that I am just a narcissist for saying this, but in order to stay youthful and be a cool adult even when you are old, you need to take care of yourself and exercise on a regular basis. I believe that people who look good even as they age have been maintaining their bodies, spending money on beauty, and investing in themselves. Some of them may say that they are cool without doing anything because they have high potential.

So far, what I’m trying to say is this.

I believe that the best way to get a return on your investment is to look at it over a long period of time and use the compound interest of time as your ally. In this sense, I think you should invest in what you like and what you are interested in.

Also, in order to get the maximum return, you need to multiply the fields in which you have invested.

In my case, it was a combination of my ability to produce output through reading, my English ability, my problem-solving ability, and my ability to work hard.

In my case, I believe that the combination of the two has resulted in my current achievements.

Lastly, I would like to share one lesson I have learned in business.

The person who can grow in an organization is the one who can use all resources and turn any situation into a business opportunity.

In other words, it is better to invest in yourself with a goal in mind and with an output in mind, rather than just doing it casually.
