(English)

Since childhood, I was not interested in schoolwork, but that did not mean that I was devoted to other fields such as sports or art, and I was not a prominent figure at school.

As I grew up, I worked for two foreign-affiliated companies for almost 30 years, but I never kicked anyone out of work to survive in the competitive society that is common in foreign-affiliated companies.

Even so, there were times when I was in charge of an organization of 1,000 people, so people around me may have thought I was good at my job.

I can say one thing for sure about my life so far. That is, if I just went with the flow and let my luck take me, I would have been able to acquire things that I never imagined.

In my case in particular, I would say that the people I have met have been wonderful.

My boss at the first company I joined took me under his wing and gave me a lot of support.

It was at that company that I met my wife, and it was she who encouraged me to go to Australia when we decided to get married.

I think the timing was also very good for me to change jobs at my current company. When I started my new job in 2012, it was the year after Steve Jobs passed away, but he was the one who set up all the business successes, and the company has continued to grow and develop even after his passing. I feel really lucky that I was able to just ride that wave.

As I have written in this blog, why was I blessed with the people around me when I am not very social or popular to begin with? In the end, the answer is that I’m just lucky, but perhaps it’s because since I started working, I’ve always had high expectations for myself, without any reason to believe that I would become a great person in the future. Since I was an only child, I was good at imagining things from a young age, and I think that my good self-image that I have maintained since I became an adult may have led to my luck.

So, since I fully believe that I am really lucky, my self-image is in good shape to be able to do what I really want to do with excitement in the rest of my life.
