三連休最後の海の日は、その名の通り、海水浴も今年一番の人手になっていたようです。
日課になっているチャーリーの散歩コースも、普段車はあまり通らない道にまで、車が繋がっていてびっくりしました。
私の住んでいる、神奈川県の藤沢市は、江ノ島や湘南の海がシンボルで、観光都市として有名ですが、夏は県外から海水浴にくる人や、最近は中国などの外国から訪れる人も増えているので稼ぎ時となるのです。
ところで、藤沢市の財政ってどうなっているんだろうと調べてみたところ、財政力指数という、必要な財源を、どの程度自力で調達できるかを図る指数が、全国の市町村でなんと24位という高い数字になっていることがわかりました。
ただ、藤沢市もだいぶ高齢者の人口が増えてきているので、近年の予算編成においては多額の財政不足が生じているようです。それでも、東京などからの転入者により人口が微増していることと、今後もその流れは続いていくと予想されているのは少し明るいニュースでしょうか。
私自身、社会人になったあとに藤沢を出て、15年ほど故郷を離れていましたが、40歳になる直前にまた地元に戻ってきました。やっぱり自分が生まれ育った町には、いろいろな思い出が詰まっていて、何よりも自分が自分でいられる場所があるということは恵まれていると思うこの頃です。
次は、その場所に、自分の夢の家を建てるというビッグプロジェクトが残されているので、ワクワクしながら計画を進めていきたいと思っています。

I was surprised to see many cars on the paths that are not usually used by cars on Charlie’s daily walking course.
Fujisawa City in Kanagawa Prefecture, where I live, is famous as a tourist city, with Enoshima Island and the Shonan Sea as its symbols.
By the way, when we looked into Fujisawa City’s finances, we found that the city ranks 24th among all cities, towns, and villages in Japan in terms of its financial strength index, which measures the extent to which it is able to raise necessary financial resources on its own.
However, since Fujisawa City has a growing elderly population, it seems that the city has been facing a large financial shortfall in recent years. The bright side is that the population has been increasing slightly due to people moving in from Tokyo and other cities, and this trend is expected to continue in the future.
I myself left Fujisawa after entering the workforce and stayed away from my hometown for about 15 years, but just before I turned 40, I returned to my hometown again.
The town where I was born and raised is filled with many memories, and above all, I feel blessed these days to have a place where I can be myself.
Next, I have a big project left to do, which is to build my dream house in that place, and I am excitedly looking forward to moving forward with my plans.
