昨年から始めた英書52冊チャレンジですが、12月30日に読み終えた、ジェフリー・アーチャー氏のクリフトン年代記の第一部 (時のみぞ知る)が読み納めとなり、昨年間一年間で読んだ英書は32冊でした。
今年こそは、週に1冊、年間52冊を目指します。
今年１冊目に選んだ本は、クリフトン年代記第二部となる ”死もまた我等なり” です。
このシリーズは第七部作まで続くので、1月から2月にかけては、ジェフリー・アーチャーの大河ドラマを目一杯楽しみたいと思います。
元旦の日は朝早くに自宅を出て長野県は野辺山のスキー場に来ています。三ヶ日は娘に付き合い、明日もスキー、明後日はスケートをする予定なので、リフトに乗っている時間も惜しんで英語のリーディングをします。
また、2週間前にランニング中に痛めた足もようやく痛みが消えたので、スキー旅行から帰ったら早速マラソンの練習を再開します。
ということで、2023年はとにかくやり抜く年にしたいです。
そのためにも一年の計は元旦にありなので、1日から突っ走るつもりで1日1日を大切にしていきたいと思います。
スキーですっかり身体が冷えてしまったので、今日は鍋でも食べることにしましょう。あー、今日は元旦なのでスーパーもやってないか。このままだとコンビニお弁当かな。コンビニのお弁当でも元旦からやっているのはありがたいですね。

I started the 52-book English book challenge last year, but finished reading the first part of Geoffrey Archer’s The Clifton Chronicles (Only Time Will Tell) on December 30, bringing the total number of English books I have read in the last year to 32.
This year, I aim to read one book a week for a total of 52 books a year.
The first book I chose this year is the second part of the Clifton Chronicles, “Death, Too, Is Ours.
This series will continue through the seventh part, so I will be enjoying Jeffrey Archer’s epic drama to the fullest during January and February.
On New Year’s Day, I left home early in the morning and came to Nobeyama ski resort in Nagano Prefecture. I will be with my daughter for three days, skiing tomorrow, and skating the day after tomorrow, so I will spare some time on the lifts to do some English reading.
Also, the pain in my leg that I hurt while running two weeks ago is finally gone, so I will resume marathon training as soon as I return from my ski trip.
So, I would like to make 2023 a year of just getting it done.
To achieve this, the year’s plans are made on New Year’s Day, so I will make the most of each and every day with the intention of running from the first day of the year.
Since my body is completely cold from skiing, I think I will have a hot pot today. Ah, I guess the supermarkets are closed today because it is New Year’s Day. I guess I’ll have to get bento at a convenience store. I’m thankful that even convenience store bento boxes are open on New Year’s Day.
