Two years ago, I formed a band with my elementary and junior high school classmates.

We have been practicing once a month in the studio, and it has been a very rewarding challenge for me, as I started playing acoustic guitar around the same time and was also asked to take on the major role of vocalist.

However, we have been practicing at a comfortable pace, and one of the band members has brought up the idea of a joint live concert with another amateur band.

The gig is scheduled for the end of August, so we still have about four months to prepare.

I also plan to run my second full marathon in December, so from now on I plan to spend the rest of the summer practicing with the band and running.

By the way, yesterday I took my junior high school daughter and her three friends from the table tennis club to practice table tennis.

They won the preliminary round of the Shonan area junior high school ping-pong tournament the day before, but lost in the first game of the final tournament, which must have been quite frustrating for them.

Playing table tennis seriously with these junior high school girls made me feel like I was a junior high school student again.

My band mates are also junior high school classmates, so it was like a second coming of age.

And now that I am older, I finally understand how precious it is to work together with friends toward the same goal.

Now, let’s still enjoy our youth.
