https://masterofhappiness.com/archives/1528

Earlier in this blog, I mentioned that

we humans think 60,000 times a day.

(https:/masterofhappiness.comarchives1528)

I also shared that about 80% of those thoughts are worries or negative thoughts.

Furthermore, I’ve heard a research that 96% of worries never actually happen.

This means that our minds spend a lot of time thinking about things that we should not worry about.
So, how can we reduce or stop our anxiety and negative emotions?

I think the first thing to understand is to realize that all of our worries and negative thoughts have their own meaning.

I think it’s very important to realize that most of our “fluctuations” and “preoccupations” are just illusions that we create for ourselves.

When anxiety pops up in your mind, instead of trying to force it to shut down, imagine putting it aside and then ask yourself, “Am I in trouble at this moment? If you think about it, you will notice that you can feel a sense of calmness.

Once your mind calms down, you can then calmly decide if you should take any action against the source of your anxiety and negative feelings.

In my case, every time a negative emotion comes up, I try to imagine putting it aside and try to look at my head and heart as objectively as possible, and I am surprised to find that most of the time it is due to selfish assumptions and delusions.

I am surprised to find that most of them are due to my own selfish beliefs and delusions. Although the “fluctuation” and “preoccupation” can still come up at any time if I am not careful, I still feel that my mind is becoming more stable and less likely to linger.
