般若心経で最も良く知られているフレーズは、
色即是空、空即是色ではないかと思いますが、
その意味を解釈を加えて意訳してみると、
あらゆるものは空であり実体がない、そして、実体がないからこをあるゆることが生まれるのだと捉えることができると思っています。
私自身、30代後半から40代になる時の人生が割としんどかった時に、般若心経を暗記して、自分の心を休めるために唱えていたことがありました。
般若心経で説いていることは、大まかに言うと、全ての苦の原因は自己への執着に伴う煩悩であるので、苦から解放されるためには、煩悩である自己への執着を断つことが必要であるということです。
何か辛いと感じている時や、悩んでいる時は、それらは実体がある訳ではなくて、全ては自分が作り上げているものに過ぎない、そう思いながら般若心経を繰り返し唱えていると心がだんだんと落ち着いてくるものでした。
その般若心経の中でも、冒頭に出した、色即是空、空即是色という言葉が好きです。
特に50代になった今では、苦しみから逃れるために般若心経の教えに頼るということではなく、固定観念や過去の自分に囚われずに、もっとクリエイティブになりたいという気持ちから般若心経に関する本を読んだりしています。
般若心経は短い文章ですが、インドの僧侶が最初に書いてから1,400年もの歳月が経っていると言われています。それだけの歳月が過ぎても風化されず、まさに真言(マントラ)を説いた有難い仏教の経典の一つですね。
これからも、夢や目標に向かっていく途中途中で、心の拠り所にしていきたいと思います。

Whenever I felt pain or was troubled, I would repeat the Heart Sutra with the thought that there was no substance to it and that it was all just something I had created, and my mind would gradually calm down.
In the Heart Sutra, I like the words “color equals emptiness, and emptiness equals color,” which I mentioned at the beginning of the sutra.
Especially now that I am in my 50s, I read books on the Heart Sutra, not to rely on the teachings of the Heart Sutra to escape suffering, but to become more creative without being trapped by stereotypes or past selves.
The Heart Sutra is a short text, but it is said that 1,400 years have passed since it was first written by a monk in India. It is one of the Buddhist scriptures that has not faded away over the years, and is a true mantra.
I would like to continue to use it as a spiritual center on the way to my dreams and goals.
